I Love to See the Temple!

I Love to See the Temple!
Of all the places the Gadd Family goes, the temple is the most important. Click on the picture to read one woman's feelings about the temple. Her testimony expresses perfectly the way our own family feels about the temple. We are excited to have one of God's holy houses so close to our own!

Cracklin' Rosie

This post is for Kevin. He has been on a Neil Daimond kick for a few weeks. Now he is out of town and missed this iconic moment in Cora's life.

Skiing!!!!!

I don't think I can convey the excitement that goes along with this post. I love to ski, and that love is enhanced by the fact that I only get to go skiing every few years.

Kevin gave me the biggest surprise on Christmas morning...new skis, boots and poles! Kevin had me so convinced he wasn't getting me anything for Christmas, (which didn't make me happy), that I kept asking my parents, "Did you do this? Tell me the truth? Who are these from?" It didn't even cross my mind that they could be from Kevin. When he finally fessed up I couldn't believe it! What a sweetie. His surprises are few and far between but they are always over the top and perfect!

So I had to break in my new skis, and luckily I had some of my favorite people to come with me. We went to Sundance, of course, on New Year's Eve. It was phenomenal! We went straight to the summit, and the powder was awesome! It was almost the perfect day. The only thing that would have made it better was to have Kevin there. After being scarred for life by his best friend Gus, who took him up triple chair and left at the top of the mountain to figure out how to get down, he vowed never to ski again. He has finally let me teach him how to ski, and we already have a trip planned next winter to Colorado. Yay!!!!
Dad, me Emily, and Rick

These is my new favorite photo. There's nothing better then spending time with my Dad on the slopes.
One of the best things about skiing is being in the mountains. Seeing the beauty of God's creations makes riding the lift just as enjoyable as skiing down the mountain.
I love to stop part way down and just look in all directions.

Christmas '09

We had a fabulous Christmas in Utah.
It was the first time we had been back for Christmas in seven years. It was wonderful for to share the season with all of our family. I never take as many pictures as I'd like, but I'll post what I've got.

Me, Mandi, and Emily. We forgot to take another pic when Rebecca got there.

The Hay Ride!
After the food and festivities we all piled into to this trailer hooked to the back of Ricky's truck and drove around the neighborhood carrolling. It was freezing, and fun!

Christmas Morning!
Ahhh, lovely photos from Christmas Morning. Gotta love it!

The best picture from the whole trip!
After opening presents at my parents house we went over to the Gadds for a yummy breakfast. Unfortunately I was so into my breakfast I didn't take any pictures.
We love relaxing and hanging out at the Gadd's house. The kids can't get enough of their Uncle Wes, Stu and Aunt Callie.

Santa came to visit on Christmas Day!

Thanksgiving Weekend

We had the best Thanksgiving weekend. My mom and dad came for the holiday and we had Maggie's baptism as well. Kevin's dad was able to come out the day after Thanksgiving for the baptism. One of the sweetest moments at the baptism was Maggie singing "My Eternal Family."

Grandpa Karl took care or Cooper during the program. What a great grandpa!
Cooper and I before church the next day.

Maggie had her Grandpa Jack baptize her. We love you Grandpa!

While my parents were in town we went to see Wicked. We all loved it, especially Maggie

The Season of Birthdays!

The craziest time of year starts in October and ends in January. For our family we get the holidays and all of our birthdays rolled into one big crazy time of year.

Happy Birthday Gadd Family!

Cora kicks things off on October 30th. She turned six this birthday. We had yummy graveyard pudding cake, a Halloween party at school and a trunk-or-treat that night.
Fun! We love our "Crazy Cora!"

Maggie's birthday is November 21st. It was her eighth birthday and she got her first American Girl doll, Rebecca Rubin. This pic pretty much sums up how the whole week of Thanksgiving went. Funny girls! Love you Mags-n-Pags!
Kevin celebrated his 31st birthday on December 12th. Like any good dad he took us all downtown to the Crown Center and we had dinner at the Crayola Restaurant. We made him wear this cute hat and sang happy birthday. We love our Big-Daddy-O, or as he likes to be called "BDO."

Cooper is our New Year's baby, and turned 1 on January 1st. He wasn't feeling to good that day but we still had a good time. We were in Utah so we got to celebrate with all of our family. So fun! We can't get enough of our Boochy Boy!
Happy Birthday to me! I turned 29 this year. I'm almost middle aged!
My birthday is January 2nd and we spent the day driving home from Utah. Kevin has decided by Jan. 2nd we are partied out so we are now reversing the digits of my birthday and celebrating on 2/1 instead of 1/2. We did celebrate on Feb. 1 with mint brownies, but no pictures. Next time we make those delicious brownies I'll post a pic.

Oldies but Goodies

I found these cute videos of the girls from when we lived in South Carolina. Cora is probably 2 and Maggie must be about 4. I really can't believe how much they've changed!
